Bio

We are SOLARUS: A dark symphonic metal band from London, Ontario Canada.
‘We make the music we love, with the people we love, for the people we love.’
SARAH DEE (Singer)

LUCAS MCARTHUR (Lead Guitar)
Founding the project in late 2016, Lucas has been the frontrunner of the project since day one, with the album Reunion (originally planned as a solo guitar project) before bringing on Sarah Dee to tackle vocals in early 2017. Lucas is a lifelong creative with a background in music, fine arts and writing. When Lucas isn't writing music and shredding, you can find him teaching young aspiring musicians, spending quality time with friends or binging his favourite movies: James Bond (007)
TROY LONGE (Rhythm Guitar)
Another lifelong musician, Troy is a multi-instrumented talent with the ability to play guitar, bass, hand-pan and some drums. He's the band's tech support with the ability to fix just about anything. Brother of prior drummer Nich Longe (we like our Longe's okay?) Troy also takes on the Longe musical superpowers that seem to be on overdrive in his entire family. He joined the project in early 2019, but it feels like he's been along for the ride since the start. His rock solid rhythms and fast fingers are a key component to Solarus' sound. When he's not busting a power move on stage, he's usually gaming or tinkering with something cool.
CHRISTOPHER DEMELO (Drums)
In the Solarus family, 2020 was actually pretty awesome, because it was the year we were introduced and graced with THE ANIMAL. Chris is an incredibly seasoned drummer, and rock solid foundation of the band. With over ten years of experience and hundreds of shows under his belt, he brings a level of musicianship to the band that we are so lucky to have. When he's not ripping it behind the kit, he's catering events and preventing ovens from burning kitchens down!
DAN "THE MAN" GEBCZYNSKI (Bass Guitar)
Dan "The Man" is a force to be reckoned with, and the most recent addition to the Solarus family. Although his primary instrument is the drums, he's thriving with Chris to glue together a serious rhythm section. His energy is contagious, and has the best attitude towards music and life. When Dan isn't making mad rhythm, he's a professional personal trainer that's doing pistol squats like a boss.
